Cambodia Gambling Dens
Sunday, 13. January 2019
There is an interesting background to the Cambodia casinos that lie just across the border from nearby Thailand, in which gambling hall gambling is against the law. Eight gambling dens are based in a generally tiny space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect spot, a three to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The phenomenal capital acquired from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; although, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 17:00, and even though visas are apparently required to pass, there are means around this, as is accurate of most borders.
The original Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary boat gambling den, features 150 slots and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of 21, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The original casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of 150 slot machines and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slots and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and sixty six of the common table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 casinos in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive vacation and hotel complex that highlights many luxuries in addition to the gambling den, which houses 10,000 square feet of 130 slot machines and 88 table games.
