Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a captivating background to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which gambling hall wagering is illegal. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a relatively tiny space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect spot, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital accrued from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; although, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 17:00, and even though visas are for all intents and purposes needed to pass, there are means around this, as is correct of most border crossings.
The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored ship gambling den, contains 150 slot machine games and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are 150 slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slots and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel compound that features a number of comforts on top of the gambling hall, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
